Rebuild side, our own crew

Decks and Patios

New decks and patios, repairs to the ones you have, and water damage mitigation for outdoor structures, from the crew that also restores buildings across Farmington and southeast Missouri.

Chapter 01

A deck or patio built for the house it belongs to

Custom deck construction starts with how you actually use the yard: where the door opens, where the morning sun lands, where the grill and the table will sit. A deck that ignores those answers gets built once and avoided forever. Our crew in Farmington lays out the footprint, the height and the steps against the house itself, then builds the framing to carry it. We design for how the deck will be used in July and how it will cope in January, and we tell you where a design choice trades looks against upkeep.

Patio installation and design is the same conversation at ground level. Where the water runs, what the ground does in a wet spring, how the surface meets the foundation: these decide whether a patio stays flat and drains, or heaves and pools against the wall. We plan the grade first and the surface second, which is the order that keeps a patio looking the way it did the week it was finished. Whatever the surface, the base underneath is where we put the effort.

Both are built by the same crew that handles framing and reconstruction for homes across southeast Missouri, so the structure under the boards gets the attention it would get inside a house.

Repairing what weather and years have worked on

Deck restoration and repairs begins with an honest walk over the whole structure. Soft boards, loose rails, wobbling steps and rusted fasteners are the visible part. The ledger where the deck meets the house, the posts at ground level and the framing underneath are where the real condition shows. We tell you what needs replacing, what can be saved and what is only cosmetic. You get a plain list: replace this, repair that, leave the rest alone.

Patio surface repair and renewal handles the cracked, sunken, stained or shifted surfaces that make a patio feel neglected. Sometimes a section can be lifted and reset, sometimes a surface can be renewed in place, and sometimes the base underneath has failed and the repair has to go deeper. Fixing the surface without finding why it moved only buys a season. A patio that shifts against a foundation can also send water toward the house, which is a damage-side problem we would rather prevent than clean up.

Repair work is often where we are asked to stop a small problem before it becomes a framing replacement. A rail that moves or a board that gives underfoot is cheap to fix today and a safety question tomorrow, so we would rather be called early.

Chapter 03

Water is what ends outdoor structures

Water damage mitigation for outdoor structures is the bridge between our two halves. We spend our working lives drying out buildings after floods, leaks and storms, and a deck or patio fails the same way: water gets in, stays in, and slowly turns timber and concrete into a problem. We look at where it enters, where it sits and what it has already softened. Moisture detection is a habit from the restoration side, and it comes with us to the backyard.

When a storm or a burst line has soaked a deck, or when standing water has been working at the framing for years, mitigation comes first and rebuilding second. The wet material is identified, what is sound is protected, and what has gone is replaced before anything new is fastened to it. Wet timber closed up under a new board keeps deteriorating out of sight, which is why we open it up first.

Preventative maintenance and protective treatments keep the next repair from being needed. Sealing, protective coatings and a habit of clearing what traps moisture are small jobs that extend a deck's life by years. New timber, new steps

Fresh timber steps rise to a yellow-sided A-frame house under a clear sky. Around the side, the new deck sits against the house with an open field beyond it.

Steps and deck are the parts of a house people use every day and notice first. What makes them last is under the surface: the framing, the fastening and the way water leaves.

Weather has already got into your existing deck? Water damage restoration is the other half of what we do.
