Smoke and Fire Damage Restoration
Stabilization, soot and smoke removal and odor neutralization across Farmington and southeast Missouri, with the rebuild planned alongside your adjuster.
Chapter 01
Stabilizing the property after the fire is out
When the fire trucks leave, the damage is not finished. The water used to put the fire out has soaked the structure, smoke and soot have settled on every surface, and any open wall or roof is exposed to the weather. Emergency fire damage assessment and stabilization is the first move: walk the property, find what is unsafe or exposed, and board up, cover or dry what has to be protected so the loss stops growing. A fire-damaged house changes by the day if it is left alone, as moisture, soot and weather keep working on it, and the sooner someone is on site with a plan, the less there is to replace later.
Then smoke and soot residue removal begins. Soot is fine and oily, and it spreads when it is wiped the wrong way, which is why a household sponge tends to smear it deeper into paint, wood and fabric. Each surface gets the cleaning method that suits it, from sealed finishes to raw framing and masonry. Residue on a ceiling, on a window frame and on a kitchen cabinet each calls for a different approach, and picking the wrong one can set the stain for good.
Our fire and smoke work uses industry-approved methods aligned with IICRC standards. The line at (573) 631-8495 is answered any hour, day or night, for Farmington and the towns around it, and we work alongside your adjuster from the first walkthrough.

Cleaning the structure and clearing the smell
Structural cleaning and material restoration is the decision about what can be cleaned and brought back and what has to come out. Studs, joists and subfloor with soot or char on the surface can often be cleaned. Material that is burned through or too saturated gets taken out and replaced. We make that call room by room, with the adjuster, so the scope of the claim matches what is really in the building.
Smoke smell is its own problem. Odor neutralization and deodorization has to reach the places smoke traveled, inside wall cavities, attics and insulation, not only the surfaces you can see. Covering a smell with fragrance hides it for a while. Removing the residue that holds the smell, then treating the air and the surfaces, is what lets a house smell like a house again.
Homes and commercial properties get the same careful order of work: protect, clean, treat, check. A garage, a kitchen or a whole second story is handled the same way, one room at a time, and the rooms that were only touched by smoke get the same attention as the ones that burned, because smoke damage is easy to underestimate when the walls look intact. Owners of businesses that have to reopen get a plain sequence and a realistic picture of which areas come back first, so they can make decisions about staff, stock and customers.
Chapter 03
Contents, the claim and the rebuild plan
Clothing, furniture, electronics, kitchenware and keepsakes carry soot and smell too. Contents cleaning and restoration sorts what can be cleaned and returned from what can't, so the inventory for the claim is accurate and families get back what can be saved. Items that belong to a business, such as stock, records and equipment, are sorted the same way, with the list kept ready for the adjuster.
Coordination with insurance and reconstruction planning ties the job together. We understand policies, documentation and the claims process, and our team works alongside adjusters so the restoration and cleaning are done correctly and in line with what the insurer requires. Because reconstruction is in-house, the plan for framing, drywall, flooring and kitchens is made by the same crew that cleaned the structure, and the rebuild starts from a clean building instead of a guess. That means one phone number and one company from the first walkthrough through the last coat of paint.
We are licensed and insured, with over 25 years of experience across southeast Missouri, and estimates are free. If there has been a fire, the first step is a phone call. Tell us what burned, what the fire department said about the structure and whether an adjuster has been assigned, and we will take it from there across Farmington, Cape Girardeau, Union, De Soto and the rest of our service area.

Cleaned of soot, then built back
The clean-up ends when the structure is stable, clean and odor free. The same company then rebuilds the walls, floors and rooms that the fire took.
