Rebuild side, our own crew

Flooring

Hardwood, laminate, luxury vinyl and tile, laid on a subfloor we have assessed first, and flooring restoration after water or fire damage in Farmington and southeast Missouri.

Chapter 01

Hardwood, laminate, vinyl and tile, matched to the room

A floor gets chosen once and lived on for years, so the choice should start with the room, not the sample board. Hardwood flooring installation and replacement suits the rooms where a floor is meant to last and take refinishing. Laminate and luxury vinyl flooring solutions suit kitchens, basements and busy hallways, where a floor meets water, traffic and dropped pans. Our crew in Farmington talks through those tradeoffs with you at the free estimate, room by room. Kitchens and baths ask different things of a floor than bedrooms do, and the material that works in one can fail in the other, so one product rarely wins every room in the house.

Replacement is the part people underestimate. Pulling up an old floor shows what it was hiding: how level the room really is, where the old adhesive let go, whether a plank edge has been swelling for years. We take the existing floor out, look hard at what is left underneath, and only then lay the new one on something sound.

Because one company does the cleanup and the rebuild, the people laying your new floor can know the room's history. If our water damage team dried it out, the flooring crew knows how wet it got and where, and that shapes what we recommend putting back down. That continuity is the practical reason to keep the damage work and the rebuild under one roof, and it saves you from explaining the loss twice.

Tile, and the subfloor it depends on

Tile flooring installation and repair is the least forgiving work in this trade. Tile is hard and brittle, and grout lines show every dip in the surface beneath. A cracked tile, a hollow-sounding tile or a run of failed grout is often telling you something about what is under it, so a repair here starts with finding the cause, not just swapping the piece. Repairs matter as much as new installs: replacing a few damaged tiles, matching what is there and resealing the joints can save a floor that would otherwise be torn out, with far less disruption in a home people are still living in.

Subfloor assessment and preparation comes before every floor type we install. We check whether the subfloor is flat, whether it is solid, and whether it is dry. Soft spots, stains and old water lines are read as evidence. Damaged sheathing is repaired or replaced, high and low spots are dealt with, and the surface is cleaned so the new floor has something to bond to.

Skipping that step is the usual way a good floor gets laid badly. Planks that squeak, tile that cracks along a line, vinyl that telegraphs a seam: most of it traces back to a subfloor nobody looked at. It is the least visible part of the job, and in homes across southeast Missouri it is the part we spend the most care on.

Chapter 03

After water or fire, taking the floor back to sound

Not every damaged floor has to go. Flooring removal and surface restoration is a judgment call made floor by floor: some surfaces come back with cleaning and refinishing, and some have taken in too much to keep. When a floor cannot stay, we remove it cleanly, down to the subfloor, so what goes in next is not built on a problem. The goal is a floor that is dry, level and solid, whatever finish ends up on top of it.

Post-damage flooring restoration is where our two halves meet. On the damage side, extraction, structural drying and moisture mapping tell us how far the water went. On the rebuild side, that same information decides what stays, what is cut out and what is laid new. Nothing is handed from one company to another and re-explained. The same crew handles residential and commercial floors in Farmington and the towns around it.

We also work alongside your insurance adjuster on water and fire losses, so the flooring scope matches what the claim documents. If water is on the floor right now, call (573) 631-8495 at any hour; we are open 24 hours, 7 days, and the flooring conversation can wait until the damage is stopped.

Subfloor to finish

A floor is rebuilt from the bottom up

Every floor follows the same order: take out what failed, make the subfloor sound, then lay the finish. The strip below reads left to right in that order.

  1. Living room floor torn out to the subfloor beside a brick fireplace

    01

    Torn out to the subfloor

    Old floor gone

  2. New subfloor sheathing laid as a room is rebuilt

  3. Hallway with finished plank flooring

Flooring after a loss starts on the damage side. See water damage restoration for how the drying and moisture mapping work before any new floor is chosen.
